I have participated in the weekly beats challenge (https://weeklybeats.com) three times, 2014, 2018 and 2024. In 2024 things started out pretty good, with an unusually high success rate with only two missed weeks until summer. Then I had a rather drastic medical mishap (of the life challenging kind) that made me unable to do basically anything until October when I was finally back home. All in all this resulted in 38 tracks, which is almost 3 times as much as I managed in the last years.
I think one of the success factors was that I started arranging a lot more early in the process than I used to. This allowed me to deliver weekly beats in surprisingly short amounts of time, sometimes within an hour. This, of course, does not result in the highest quality of tracks, but I often think of Weekly Beats more as a "sharpening your tools" kinda excercise where the results are nice to have, but not actually the important part.
